Terms

The rules for using hosted Binderwork at app.binderwork.com. The software itself is yours under its open-source license.

The software

Binderwork is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3 or later. You may run it, study it, change it and share it under that license, and nothing here limits it.

The hosted service

  • It is free, with no paid plan.
  • Binderwork never charges a fee tied to a signature, a closed round or a share transfer.
  • At least six months’ notice before the hosted free tier ends or narrows, and exports for twelve months after.
  • Hosting is fair use: a workspace storing far more than a company’s paperwork may be asked to run its own server.

Your account

Keep your sign-in to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account, and you must be allowed to act for the company you set up a workspace for.

Your content

What you put in Binderwork stays yours. You let us store, process and show it only to run the service as you direct. You need the right to share what you upload, and to send it to the people you send it to.

Fair use

  • No unlawful or infringing material, malware, spam or phishing.
  • No harassment, and no signing requests meant to mislead the signer.
  • No probing, overloading or breaking into the service or anyone’s account.
  • To report a link that breaks these rules, send it to hi@binderwork.com. We may take down links and close workspaces that break them.

Not legal advice

Binderwork gives you forms, checks and facts, not legal advice. You decide what to send and sign, and whether a document fits your situation. Whether an electronic signature binds depends on the law and the parties; when it matters, ask a lawyer.

Assistants

An assistant connected to Binderwork prepares the work. Anything that sends, signs or files waits for a person’s approval, and what you approve is your act.

No warranty, limited liability

The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. We work to keep it running and your records safe, but we don’t promise it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, so keep your own exports of what matters.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data or business, that come from using the service.

Ending

You can stop at any time; export first. We may suspend or close access that breaks these terms, and we tell you why unless the law prevents it.

Changes and contact

When these terms change, the date above changes with it. For changes that matter, we email account holders at least 30 days before they take effect. Questions go to hi@binderwork.com.
